Nearly a year ago, a group of friends in the San Antonio area decided to restart the San Antonio chapter of Food Not Bombs. Every Sunday at 3pm we offer homemade, vegan/vegetarian food to anyone needing a hot meal. Despite attempting to establish partnerships with local grocers & restaurants, the majority of the food that is served each Sunday is purchased by Food Not Bombs members themselves.
We're setting up this fundraising page to help continue the servings indefinitely, and allow Food Not Bombs to expand our servings to multiple locations and multiple days. 100% of the donations will go to food and supplies needed for servings.
Even though we provide meals to hungry folks, we believe in solidarity, not charity. Food Not Bombs is trying to inspire the public to participate in changing society and focus our resources on solving problems like hunger, homelessness and poverty while seeking an end to war and the destruction of the environment. We are also showing by example that we can work cooperatively without leaders through volunteer effort to provide essential needs like food, housing, education and healthcare.
Our food is free to anyone without restriction.
