How It Works

Users must create an Account which only requires a functional email account and then set setup a password. Once the account is created users must click on the “My Account” link to access the Dashboard screen. The Dashboard is the main control area for your Account, your Payment Settings and your Campaigns. Click on the “Creator Account” link to connect your Urban Fundr account to your Stripe Payment account.

Urban Fundr utilizes Stripe as our primary payment gateway system. Stripe allows for easy integration with our platform and gives campaign creators an easy method to collect campaign funds. To create an account visit stripe.com. Once your account is created, login to your Urban Fundr Account and visit your Dashboard.

Click the My Payments Tab, then click on the “Connect to Strip” button.

A prompt screen asking you to connect to your Stripe account should appear.

If you already have a Stripe account, simply click the login link and continue.

If you do not have a Stripe account your will be able to create one from this screen.



Once the connection has been completed you should automatically be returned to your Creator Accounts tab and the Stripe button should now display as “Connected”.

You are now ready to create campaigns and accept payments!


When and how do I get paid?

Stripe will transfer funds to your bank account based on the schedule listed in your dashboard. For example, “Daily — 7 day rolling basis” would mean that charges processed on March 1st would be grouped together and deposited in your account on March 8th, and “Weekly (Monday) — 2 business day rolling basis” would mean that charges processed before a given Thursday will be grouped together and deposited in your account on the following Monday.

Your transfer schedule can be configured to simplify your accounting. Stripe currently offers the option for funds to be transferred daily, weekly (on a custom day of the week), or monthly (on a custom day of the month).

Reward-Based Crowdfunding

Reward-based crowdfunding has been used for a wide range of purposes, including motion picture promotion, free software development, inventions development, scientific research, and civic projects.

How Rewards-Based Crowdfunding Works

  • Business or entrepreneur posts a project available for funding up on a crowdfunding platform

  • Frequently, special promotional videos are produced to help get backers interested in the project.

  • In return for backing a project, backers receive different rewards depending on the amount of funding they commit (defined by the business or entrepreneur behind the project)

  • Business and other supporters of the projects share the project with friends and family

  • Interested backers donate during the project, sharing their activities over social networks

  • If funding targets are hit before the project’s deadline, the deal “tilts” and monies are exchanged, rewards are committed

  • Typically, within the months following a successful project funding, backers receive their rewards (though research shows many of the rewards are late in their delivery)
